SCRF 2016 – 11 Days Activation

Client: Sharjah Book Fair
Year: 2016
Project: Sharjah Reading Festival

Requirement

Solutions:

We worked with the Sharjah Book Fair for the Sharjah Reading Festival in 2016. The requirement presented before us was to create an engaging experience for children that incorporated modern technology while instilling a love for reading and knowledge. The goal was to break away from traditional methods and captivate the younger audience through innovative means.
To fulfill the client's requirement, our team devised a comprehensive strategy that incorporated various modern technologies to create interactive and educational touchpoints for kids. The key components of our solution included:
1. Google Expeditions: We leveraged Google Expeditions to take children on an immersive journey around the world. This allowed them to explore different cultures, historical landmarks, and geographical wonders through virtual reality.
2. VR Experience about Mars: A virtual reality experience was developed to transport children to the surface of Mars. This not only sparked their imagination but also provided an educational insight into space exploration.
3. Touch and Drag Games: Interactive touch and drag games were designed to make the learning process enjoyable. These games were aimed at enhancing cognitive skills, and problem-solving abilities, and fostering a positive attitude toward learning.
4. Conventional Painting and Drawing: Balancing modern technology with traditional methods, we incorporated hands-on activities like painting and drawing. This helped children unleash their creativity and express themselves through art.

Results:

The 11-day activation at the Sharjah Reading Festival yielded remarkable results, demonstrating the success of our multi-tech approach. Some key outcomes include:
- High Engagement: Over the course of 11 days, a total of 1000 children actively participated in the various experiences. The engagement level was notably high, with kids eagerly lining up to be a part of the innovative activities.
- Positive Reception: The Google Expeditions experience received positive feedback, with children expressing enthusiasm for the virtual journeys. The Mars VR experience also captured their imagination, fostering an interest in space and science.
- Educational Impact: Beyond the excitement, the 11-day activation contributed to the educational development of the participants. Children not only enjoyed the activities but also learned essential skills such as reading, writing, and painting.
- Scale of Impact: In total, 4000 children had the opportunity to engage in the 6 different experiences offered. This showcased the scalability and effectiveness of the approach in reaching a substantial number of young minds.

The Ultimate Outcome

At the SCRF 2016 - 11 Days Activation, we successfully addressed the challenge by seamlessly blending modern technology with traditional learning methods. The positive results underscored the potential of such multi-tech engagements in promoting education, creativity, and a love for reading among children.
